Интервью : Alberta Watson – Eva Cuza
Alberta Watson is born in Toronto, in Canada. She made his studies in this
town and began to sing in the school's choral. To play comedies don't interest
her at first, but she played in some TV spots and in "Honor the Father": The
movie of the Week Television. His performance gave her the opportunityto be cast
again in others films TV productions.
In 1978, for the first time she
started in the cinema in the George kaczender's "in praise of Older Women" with
Karen Black.
She was nominated for the "second role of the Oscar of
Canada". She played again in "Misdeal", "The Soldier" with Klaus Kinski. She
played a drugs dealer in "Best revenge". That was her performance of a strong
and determined women who comfort Michael Mann to cast her for "The Keep".
I was cast by audition, of course, Michael informed me two days before the
film shooting. I loved "The Jericho miles" and "Thief", the energy so developed
for "The Keep" seduced me immediately. Michael is very impressive, enthusiastic.
He told me about my character with a realistic and inspiration way. Michael was
inspired by this project….And his passion touched me too."
"Eva Cuza is
very young, very interesting in an erotic way. She suffering in silence about
his Jewish condition and caring of his dying father. When she is seducing by the
Glaeken and striking the Nazis and Molasar, she begins more strong, more women.
She evolves."
The Stage shooting?
"It was a very dark movie, the
subject and the natural's conditions; it was a very hard film. All contribute to
paralyse you, the whole movie take you away in a very strange world, like a
nightmare.
We shooted in Spain for the end final: I escaped with my
father and Glaeken on a boat. But, it is not in the actual montage editing. We
played many days and hours and, this sequence does not appear in the final
montage. It's the unexpected side of film shoots!"
Molasar?
"Of
course, the monster revealed no corresponding in exactly way about anyone could
have in his mind. It's inevitable. But it's the vision of Michael, his own
vision of the evil. Michael took a "deal". So we couldn't be agreeing with his
point of view. But, I think he shooted my love sequence with Scott Glenn with
a very fine and talent way. It's very rare in the actual production!"
